Organization and Governance

The Cooperative Institute for Climate Applications and Research (CICAR) is administered by the Earth Institute, Columbia University, through its Lamont-Doherty Earth Observatory (LDEO) and is located at the Observatory's Palisades, New York campus. The Institute consists of the director, who is an official of Columbia University, an administrative staff, the CICAR Advisory Committee and Executive Board, and the scientific and support staff members of LDEO and other units of the Earth Institute. The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) / Office of Atmospheric Research Climate Program Office and the Geophysical Fluid Dynamics Laboratory, a NOAA research facility are CICAR's principle connections to NOAA.
